It’s strawberry season here in the Pacific Northwest and that can only mean one thing… I’ve been putting strawberries in everything lately. 😉 I made this strawberry basil salsa recipe the other day and ate it with some tortilla chips.
I ate the entire bowl of salsa, it was so good.
Then I made another batch of strawberry basil salsa and spooned it over a thin layer of cream cheese on a toasted baguette. And hold-the-phone, it changed everything.
I suddenly felt like I was somewhere in Europe eating at a small table just outside the farmers market.
I’ve also had this lovely salsa over spinach greens. So basically, I’m in love with the stuff and never want strawberry season to end!
This recipe for strawberry basil salsa is seriously the best thing ever! Strawberries and basil, who knew they went so well together?
Give it a try, you’ll be so glad you did!

P.S. Check out this recipe for strawberry bruschetta. It’s pretty awesome too.

This recipe looks delicious! I ordered tri-star strawberries last year, per your suggestion and we have loved them. This year they have really taken off! Well last night, the kiddos and I went and picked a ton for dinner, but there was something wierd about the berries. They felt like they were full of water and soggy. They looked perfect, but felt all wrong. We brought all I thought were still good in to eat. Upon further inspection during dinner (yikes!) my husband spotted a couple of tiny white worms on them. I cut one open and it had even smaller white worms inside the berry. Do you (or any of your readers) know what this might be and how to fix it? I was planning on our family eating berries for another 2 months! Please help!?! Thanks!!!

When you serve this to a crowd, do you use just triscuit crackers or triscuits and cream cheese?
Mavis Butterfield says
I like to use those Food Should Taste Good chips or some sort of other tortilla chip. Triscuits might be good too.

Ok- Thanks, Mavis!
