You’re never too old to have your mom and sister bake you a cake and then show up at your work with a bouquet of balloons and be sung Happy Birthday to. Not at 16. Not at 20. Not at 45. Never. In fact, it’s pretty much their job to embarrass you for the rest of your life.
That’s just the way things go.
He loved it!!!
His co-workers loved it.
It was a great day.
Life should always be this simple.

My oldest son’s birthday is coming up soon! He’ll be 23. So, you’re saying it’s okay for me to show up at his work with cake and balloons? I might just do that! (I have three sons and they were all into Curious George–this cake would work for that, too!)
Mavis Butterfield says
Absolutely. There is no age limit.
Jenny says
I was looking at the cake and my son asked what it was, told him it was a birthday cake. Today is his 7th birthday and he thought it was amazing that you knew it was his birthday today and had a birthday cake.
Mavis Butterfield says
Well of COURSE I baked him a cake on his birthday. 🙂
Lisa MTB says
That’s so cute and awesome! Are the “sprinkles” chocolate breakfast cereal or some other kind of chocolate decoration?
Mavis Butterfield says
Cocoa Pebbles.

Does anyone know why Mavis’s son is called Monkey Boy?
Mavis Butterfield says
Why do any of our kids have nicknames? I have no idea how it started… but he did LOVE Curious George as a kid.
Laura Z. says
You know, he is always going to remember today, even though it is only one of the many examples of what an awesome Mom (and sister) he has! Happy Birthday, Monkey Boy!
Deborah says
This would be awesome for any monkey boy. LOL We have a grease monkey boy, our mechanic son.
