I was in ALDI a few days ago when I noticed nearly an entire aisle dedicated to Christmas cookies and sweets and knew I just had to share. After all, sharing is caring and everyone knows calories don’t count between the months of November and December, right?

Yep! The calories totally don’t count. 😉 I’m almost positive I read that somewhere.

And c’mon now, if we are going to get technical here, cookies are made with eggs, and sometimes nuts and what could be more healthy than popping a wee bit of egg in your mouth to get your day started?

Or having a bit of chocolate on hand for a little afternoon pick me up? 😉 Am I right, or what!?

So let’s do this!

One lucky winner will receive one package of the following:

How you can win it:

If you could only have one cookie to eat, or one particular kind of chocolate to treat yourself to for the rest of your life, what would it be? {I would choose fig and hazelnut biscotti and sea salt caramels from Black Dinah Chocolatiers.}

Just answer that one question below in the comment section and you’re entered to win. Life’s pretty complicated sometimes, so I like to keep things simple around here. This particular giveaway is open to residents anywhere on the planet earth.

    Mine would be the Daim chocolate toffee candy bars (the little tiny ones) from Sweden) they are delicious and I love how tiny they are (if only I could stop at one!) they sell them at IKEA or Cost Plus World Market or most Nordic specialty shops if you’re lucky enough to live by one 🙂

    Every time I make one of my favorite cookie recipes I think “THIS is my actual favorite!” So I’m not really sure, but I’ll go with peanut butter cup cookies, because I’ve been wanting them for a few weeks..just waiting for my mom to deliver the mini peanut butter cups!
    As for chocolate..Finland’s Fazer, either the one with licorice bits or the salted toffee. We’re planning to tour their factory on Saturday!

    Hmm… to pick just one, what a commitment! I think a fresh chocolate chip cookie from Tiff’s Treats would be my choice. I don’t know that I can pick just one chocolate, but I don’t think I’d be upset with only having Justin’s dark chocolate peanut butter cups for the rest of my life.

    My favorite cookie (I make every year without fail, even after a hip replacement!) is Bourbon Pecan Spritz. I can eat the entire batch. I’ve even risked salmonella poisoning by eating the dough! Lol

    I’m such a sucker for anything with a good rich chocolate and marshmallow. So, a good cookie that combines both would be my choice. I make a cookie at Christmas time that combines these and give away about 40 dozen each year. I love that I can make something people wait for every year…. So fun!

    I’d choose the Salted Peanut Cookies my grandma had waiting for us every time we visited. I’ve made them for my dad (his favorite too). Mine are good, but not as good as grandma’s! She’s no longer with us and I miss her. I think I’ll make these cookies tonight for my hubby in her honor.

    My late mother’s Russian tea cookies. Such a simple recipe: Ground walnuts, flour, vanilla, butter, salt, baked for about an hour, then rolled in powdered sugar. I have her recipe but they never turn out the same.

    All those cookies look divine and would love to sample, however we do NOT have an Aldi’s in Utah!!

    My mom always baked dozens of cookies at the holidays, so it’s hard to pick one! I adored it when Mom would mix up things, and some of her Tollhouse right-from-The-bag recipe had a few raisins tossed in as a surprise! Or the rolled up powdered balls (can’t remember the name!)-yum! And I can’t forget Peanut Butter Patties/Tagalongs from the Girl Scouts!

    As for chocolate, I’m old-school, and love Dark Chocolate Goldenberg’s Peanut Chews!

    How do u choose one? The first cookie that came to mind is choc chip- I never turn one down and don’t make them enough- but then I remembered my grandma’s oatmeal lace and wish I had one now. Candy wise it’s See’s candies that I also enjoy. We just got a ALDI I’m going to have to check fir this aisle

    What a fun giveaway! When I gave birth to our youngest daughter on December 26, a wonderful friend visited us in the hospital and brought a tray of homemade cookies, including some delightful candy cane oatmeal cookies. They’re chewy and pepperminty and were just perfect to me then. They’re still pretty darn perfect to me now and I’d eat them by the pan full if left unsupervised!

    I would choose either the Napoleon’s Hat cookie from the danish bakery in Solvang, CA which is a butter cookie filled with almond marzipan and dipped in chocolate or on the homemade front, my Gran’s molasses cookies.
    As far as candy goes I love See’s candy Bordeaux or California crunch. In a pinch I will gladly eat Almond Roca.

    Kitchen Sink cookies. That way you don’t have to pick a favorite. Pretty much any ingredient goes. But leave out the raisins for me. My new favorite chocolate is a dark chocolate toasted coconut thin chip from Josh Early candy. If that is not possible a Reese’s egg, bat, pumpkin or Christmas tree works. So much more peanut butter in the fun shapes as compared to the regular peanut butter cup!

Received a box of milk and dark chocolate creamy sea salt topped catmels! They came from Maxfield Candy Company of Salt Lake City. The best EVER!!

    Idk how I am supposed to choose ONE cookie?!?! Cause I choose based on my mood. I DO really love the perniki cookies my friend made me yrs ago….a thickly rolled sugar cookie….with a touch of anise oil….and frosted. I have a terrible weakness for these cookies. And once, I decided to freeze them, so I would have to go through the bother of thawing a cookie if I wanted it….and I learned that frozen sugar cookies are even better than room temp sugar cookies! eek! (My mom’s mexican wedding cookies are pretty much up there, too! drool!!)

    All of these sound delicious. One cookie? They don’t make anymore but I used to be partial to Nabisco Raisin Biscuit or Cranberry Biscuit. Perfect to eat with tea. If I have to choose one, I’ll go with chocolate-dipped coconut macaroons. I love those little haystacks of coconut! And one chocolate? I’m a See’s afficionado so I will say a See’s honeycomb crisp (also known as “seafoam” candy) — thick chunks of golden honeycomb in light or dark chocolate. SOOOOO good. I wish I knew how to make it.

    I would have to pick a plain ole Hershey’s chocolate bar for the chocolate. My dad always bought my brother and I Hershey bars. He didn’t make a lot of money even though he worked two jobs, so the treat from him meant more than anything to my brother and I. They still do. Many times when we’re together we eat one just for him. So for me, yes a plain old Hershey’s bar, always, it reminds me of my memories with Daddy

    Iv’e spent the past ten minutes staring at my keyboard with my fingers paused in mid air….I can’t possibly pick just one! Toss up between dark chocolate soft sea salt caramels, Moravian spice cookies (paper thin and so good with a hot cup of anything), and my own lemon zest shortbread rolled in turbinado sugar crystals along the edges.

    Favorite chocolate here has to be Aldi’s Dark chocolate-covered almonds and they are not near as good anywhere else if I can even find them. And I am a ‘cookie monster’ so almost everything is good. There are a few I don’t care for, but not many!

    My instinct is to say that oatmeal scotchies would be my choice, but I think my primary attraction to those is not the cookie itself, but the handfuls of butterscotch chips I eat before we make them!!!

    I was introduced to a delicious cookie in Ireland many years ago, you can find them in the US in certain stores, Mcvities Dark Chocolate Digestives, so good! And I agree with you calories just don’t count during November and December!

    I would say a salted caramel macaron from the authentic French Bakery , Duchess, in Edmonton Alberta. They are so fabulous fresh, and thankfully they freeze well too!

    Mint Milanos forever. During college I lived near the factory and would get 2nds by the bag (5 lbs for $5). I would eat through 5 lbs a week and probably ate my weight in cookies in a year of college. I still love them to this day.

    Molasses cringles are my favorite cookie. My favorite candy changes, but I think I like the stripe soft mints that you buy at Christmas. Get the long ones and you can enjoy them in a cup of hot cocoa as a straw.

    Mavis, I would definitely eat the cookies I bought at Harrods Food Hall more than 30 years ago. I can still taste them! Chocolate chunks, caramel and some sort of nut. I figured out that I probably spent the equivalent of about $25 on six cookies but believe me, they were worth every penny!

    Thank you Mavis! Wow, it sure is hard to narrow down a favorite cookie. If I had to choose one it would be Iced Molasses Cookies with Raisins. When my brothers and I were growing up, my mom would make these on snow days. She would serve them with a mug of Hot Chocolate with a big spoonful of Fluff (marshmallow creme).

    If I could only have one cookie from now on, it would have to be homemade Gingersnaps. My grandpa always made them and I use his recipe. They’re crisp and chewy at the same time, and I never get tired of them.

    I was born in Germany some 50 years ago. Any time I get to eat any German related goody, it takes me back to my childhood. Christmas in Germany is magical!
    Lebkuchen is my favorite. A spicy gingerbread cookie coated with chocolate.

    My 10yr old niece’s snicker doodles. Her great grandma, “grandma cookie” (no joke that’s what they called her) was German and passed down her recipe and my niece learned from her great aunt and now she bakes them with my sister in law. I never had a snicker doodle before! But one Christmas my niece, my son and I spent a day watching cheesy Christmas movies snacking on snicker doodles. Im not normally a sweet eater so I kept saying, ok, no more. It’s too much. But I couldn’t stop. Could. Not. Stop. Eventually, I gave in and enjoyed every cookie until we polished off the entire tin!! I don’t know how I lived so long without that cookie!! Never again!
    2nd choice are my mother in law’s homemade Scottish shortbread.

    Cotes d’Or chocolate with ginger and lemon bits anytime. I can only find them when I visit my relatives in France. Soooooo gooood…. a few pounds of this treat does not last long enough in my house though.

    Too hard to come up with just one! I am a cookie fiend but always come back to my childhood recipe for soft and chewy peanut butter chocolate chip cookies. For a chocolate it would have to be a combo of toffee or caramel filled with almonds, coated in chocolate (homemade almond toffee crunch mmm) or maybe I would go with homemade super fudgy chocolate filled brownies – does narrowing it down to three count as an answer? 😉

    I could eat white chocolate cranberry cookies for the eat of my life and not get tired of them! I MacGuyvered a recipe for them after buying similar cookie dough through a school fundraiser. Mine are way better and a family favorite!
