We woke up the other morning to a backyard full of snow… and it arrived just in time for a white Christmas.
Does it get any better than that?
It’s so peaceful… and calm and now all I want to do is stay inside and sit by the fire and drink hot chocolate and wait for the parade of wildlife to stroll across the backyard {we’ve already spotted two sets of deer tracks in the snow}.
So for the rest of the week rather than hopping out of bed and turning on the computer in the mornings, I’ve decided to unplug for a few days and devote my time to rest, finishing my holiday baking, sitting by the woodstove and working on a few new projects.
Who knows… maybe I’ll get lucky and get served breakfast in bed.
A girl can dream, right? 😉
Merry Christmas from Maine!
Stay warm.
I’ll see you back here Sunday.
~Mavis

Up to 7″ of snow was forecast for 12/18 but we got freezing rain, not any snow. It’s unusual for us to have a green Christmas.

I always read your blog in the morning, brings a smile to my face before I tackle the morning news. Love the lobster jammies! While we won’t get snow here (but will in our mountains) we are getting buckets of rain for Christmas and I couldn’t be happier! I love a rainy day and a good book, and after the drought we’ve been in it’s a real gift. So Merry Christmas to you and yours and thank you for sharing a little bit of Maine and your talent with us.

Wishing a Merry Christmas to one and all! We are eagerly anticipating snow beginning Christmas Day and potentially lasting for a week. That may not be unusual for those of you who live in colder climates, but in valleys of the Pacific Northwest it’s exciting news.

Merry Christmas! My son made it home from college in VT Sunday night. Took them an hour to de-ice the plane before takeoff. Here in OH we just have brown. Doesn’t feel like Christmas yet. Enjoy the break. Tomorrow is my husband’s first day off so maybe it will start to feel like it then.
