Yesterday I spent the morning filling spice jars and adding them to my new spice rack.
We were super lucky to come across a screaming deal on Weck Jars earlier this year and so when it was time to have the new cabinets built for the kitchen, I made sure and put a spice rack on the list.
Previously our spice jars were all different shapes and sizes and strewn between 2 drawers.
But now, they’re all on one spot. Which will make meal prep much, much nicer.
And I love the wooden lids too!
All lined up.
Neat and tidy. Just the way I like things. 🙂
I LOVE how our new pantry and spice rack turned out. It’s the perfect size for our kitchen and I love how there’s a place for everything whether it’s on a shelf, on a rack or accessable from the pull out drawers.
Countertops and plumbing are scheduled to be installed next week, and then the baking season can officially begin. Yee-Haw! We’re coming down the home stretch.
Have a great day everyone,
~Mavis

I love the jars! It looks so pretty. It’s fun to see your kitchen come together. Thanks for sharing.

Your spices look lovely in their matching jars. How are you labeling them?
Mavis Butterfield says
I put a lable on the bottom of each jar. 🙂
Katelyn says
That looks really lovely! Hopefully that was a nice boost while you (oh, who are we kidding, we all) wait for Aga 2: Return of the Aga.
Julie says
This comment made my day. Thank you Katelyn!
Mavis Butterfield says
Ha Ha Ha. Let’s hope there isn’t a third installemnt in the series.

I don’t see any labels on your jars … how do you know what is in each jar? Sniff test, I imagine now that I think about it.
Jennifer Jo says
They’re so pretty! When you open and close the door, do they slide from side to side?
Mavis Butterfield says
Nope.

Organization is one of my super powers 🙂 and I love your spice rack and jars! I am currently trying to decide how I want to reorganize my spices . . . I think the jars I am using are too small – how tall are the jars that you have? Happy baking!!
Mavis Butterfield says
The small ones are: Height: 3 1/8″ Opening: 2 3/8″
The large ones are: Height: 5″ Opening: 2 3/8″

I can’t get over all the Weck jars, and the variety in shapes, that you were able to get when HH found them. I’m envious! They look so nice in your new cabinets and your canning cupboard.

Alphabetized jars is the way to go!
Mavis Butterfield says
That’s a great idea!

Annette, I keep mine: like with like. So, basil is with oregano and cloves, ginger and cinnamon are together. It saves me time when grabbing, as I know my system. They are labeled, so others can find them.
For the same reason, flour, sugar and brown sugar are on the same shelf, in the pantry.
I love that everyone finds what works for them.

Beautiful! Love the wreck jars. I saved containers from previously purchased spices or buy the small hinged glass jars and refill them from a place I can buy small amounts of bulk spices from. Kitchen is turning out really nicely. I hope you will enjoy it for years to come!

Martha Stewart is probably jealous of such a well organized and pretty spice/herb collection. Well, she should be!

Love your spice organization!! I just looked at all the WECK offerings via your link but I think I did not find the small bottles you have on your spice rack. (the mm and ml gets me confused) What is their size Mavis? I would like to have a savings goal in order to have a big spice cabinet built and use the small and large bottles you show. I have discovered so many wonderful international spices this past year while cooking mostly vegan food. My pantry overflow-ith! Ha! Enjoy your wonderful organization!!
Mavis Butterfield says
They are the 760 160mL Mini Mold Jars. 🙂

Thank you so much for responding! Looking them up now.

That looks fabulous! I love the idea of putting all the different containers of spices into one style. Makes my OCD organizing heart happy. That rack is awesome too! Your pantry is beautiful.
Teri says
That looks so good. Did you get the wood lids with the fab deal or buy them from the company?
Love your organizational skills!

These are SO PRETTY! I have mine in all one size, alphabetized, but nothing pretty like these.
I also love that the microwave is in the pantry cabinet! That is the one design element I haven’t been able to figure out as I plan a kitchen. I will not do it over the stove again, don’t want it out on a counter top, and not a fan of the newer trend of putting it in the island. I’m going to definitely see if I can make this work.
Tammy says
Ooh, I love it!

I love your spice organization! I had recently organized mine in a drawer and I really liked how it was working for me. My wonderful 8 yr old grandson watched me organize them and commented on how many I had. Last week he went to a party that gave away gifts at the end. I am told that he fiercely fought to win me a large spinning counter spice rack. He passed on all kinds of things that he would have loved just to get me that spice rack. He’s so amazing! Although I really liked them off my counter, I am using the counter rack. He is so proud everytime he sees it.
