Mavis – HELP! I’m tired of my rubber boots cracking after a year or two. What boots are you using out in the garden these days, or for some good puddle jumping? Thank you!
~Kristy
Hunter boots. End of discussion. Best investment ever. The HH and I both own a pair {we bought them back in 2003}. We’ve never had a single issue with them and I highly recommend them to EVERYONE! Hunter for the win.
Theme song 😉

Julie, you are the coolest! Dig For Your Dinner is certainly in need of a theme song and this is PERFECT. Thanks so much for sharing. Now to round up enough friends and put together a music video…
I was telling my friend about how you posted a picture a long time ago that showed in one picture how much Americans waste each year. I want to show it to her because its shocking but I can’t find the post. Mind sharing it again. Probably other people need to see it again, too.

That post, How Much Does the Average American Throw Away in One Year continues to be one of the most disturbing posts I’ve ever done. I knew food waste was an issue in our country and it’s a huge pet peeve of mine. But to see the average amount all in one place was mind blowing. And terribly sad. It made me renew my vow to fight food waste, especially in my own home!

I love my Bog boots. From cleaning out barns to gardening, they are great!

Living in SE Alaska (a temperate RAIN forest) I have to recommend Xtra Tuff boots. They are called SE sneakers because they’re so popular here. They come in insulated and non-insulated and you can get wool insole liners to make them even more comfy. All around they are a great rain boot and last for years. My husband and I got some 10 years ago and he just recently got a new pair. (I’m a little easier on mine.)
