It’s been nearly two weeks since the HH and I went on the Secret Gardens of the Kennebunks tour and I am still thinking about one garden in particular; Bee Haven.
It wasn’t just the garden itself that was so spectacular, it was the garage and the beehives and the pergola around back. The fact that all this was hidden behind a very unassuming facade of a small home from the front of the street was the best part to me.
I love it. I loved everything about it. Especially the wisteria and arbor over the garage. And that light fixture, it was so dreamy… and simple.
Check out those raised garden beds!!
The timbers and pea gravel were just right. Clean, simple and easy to maintain. Perfection in my book.
And the row of espalier trees. Seriously, isn’t this place wonderful?
The flower pots at this home were pretty spectacular too. Note to self: Go crazy with the flower pots next summer.
Walking around someones well maintained garden is such a treat. I think what I loved most about this garden was that it all seemed so personal.
Garden boxes, bee hives, espalier trees.. These are all things I’d love to have in my backyard.
Bee Haven. It was by far my favorite garden on the tour. I loved everything about it. I came away with so many wonderful ideas for our new place.
Our backyard may be a sliver of the size of theirs, but that doesn’t mean I can pack the flowers in and create my own little hidden gem as well.
