bits and bobs: A random assortment of things; small remaining pieces and things
Doormats. How many do you use at once? Call me old fashioned but I’ve always thought one was enough. But Grandinroad magazine shows us how to use three.
If you were thinking about ordering some Cadbury mini eggs online for Easter baskets… Don’t. I did and every single one of the eggs were either broken or chipped.
How good are your egg blowing skills? If you’re a pro, I’ve found a money making deal for you… Blown chicken eggs. Right now Etsy seller MyBigSkyNC is selling 2 dozen ready to decorate eggs for $40. Hmmm.
Do you have a digital camera from the early 2,000’s you’re no longer using?
Now might be a good time to sell it because according to the BBC, “A lot of folk find them quite comforting. It reminds them of their childhood, it reminds them of simpler times.” And by folk they mean millennials .
If you’ve ever thought of owning your own pub in Cornwall, now might be your chance.
“The Fourways Inn is a landmark Freehouse inn at the heart of the picturesque Cornish village of St Minver in North Cornwall, close to Polzeath and Rock beaches. Presenting a unique opportunity to acquire a successful business with 8 refurbished en-suite letting rooms, a newly built terraced 2-bed cottage with separate entrance and a terraced 2-bed apartment.”
You can see the full listing details on the John Bray Estates website. If you decided to go in with some buddies and buy it, let me know, I’d be happy to bake desserts in exchange for a room a few months out of the year.
Ahh the weekend. It’s finally here.
Time to make yourself {or your furry friend} a nice cuppa and have some fun.
Here’s hoping you have a good one,
~Mavis

The three rugs looks like a trip hazard to me.

That’s the first thing I thought of also.

Agree! I can totally trip over one at my age.

Who else is just waiting for the egg deals to show up so they can stock up?
Melissa says
Egg deals? I don’t think there will be any.
Mel says
I would have thought egg blowing would be tricky, but I searched for tools, and they’re all highly rated, so maybe it’s simpler than it seems? I would imagine the hard part would be shipping them without them breaking, but maybe some sort of sealant would reinforce them.

Cadbury mini eggs are my absolute fave. I’d still eat the destroyed ones – but man… it looks like someone dropped kicked the package several dozen times!
Katelyn says
Those Cadbury eggs are available in stores around me, including Target. You should be able to find some in better condition, Mavis! You can use the crushed ones mixed into brownies or cookies. Yum!
Annette says
Make cookies with the broken Cadbury eggs.

I got that same magazine last week in the mail and that is the exact picture that stopped me from flipping through it above the trash can. I was admiring the bee rug, then I noticed the rug under it and wondered what was with the rug sandwich. Then I saw the tote bag near the door and that really bothered me. I have a hard enough time keeping porch pirates away and that would only add another invitation for them. It also had an innocence to it that made me wonder what could crawl into it and if it was left at the airport that would be a problem. Who leaves a bag like that by their front door? It is not DoorDash or grocery delivery.
Dawn says
I like the look but I would absolutely trip over three doormats stacked like that. I’ll stick to one, thanks!

AGREE! Tripping was my immediate thought, as well. Especially my older in-laws, or little nieces and nephews.
One is enough.

I believe that the Cadbury eggs have a dip recipe online that people go crazy for, I remember my mom blowing eggs we could have been rich, they were also dyed and put on Easter Trees with ribbon. Have a great weekend everyone
