It started snowing late Tuesday afternoon and when we woke up yesterday the snowflakes were still fluttering about. By the time the HH suited up to start up the snowblower though, the snow had finally stopped.
Before the storm I think it was predicted we’d get 8 – 12 inches of snow. And while I have no idea how much snow actually fell in our neck of the woods, it sure was was beautiful.
Wet, heavy snow, but still pretty magical in my book. .
I must admit, I’m going to be a bit sad when winter finally ends around here.
All the indoor projects, the cozyness, the glow of the burning wood coming from the window of the woodstove. And all the time I’ve been able to spend working on my hooked rugs because it’s too cold outside and do anything else.
But then I think about the garden, and how satisfying it is every year to plant the seeds and watch everything grow.
I guess we’re kind of lucky here up in New England… We get to enjoy all the seasons {plus an extra one, MUD season}.
I love it here. Have I told you that already?
Here’s to another fantastic day in the great state of Maine.
Peace Out.

Here in the Burlington VT area, we were supposed to get 1-3″ from that storm (that was the forecast when I went to work on Tuesday). By the time it stopped yesterday, we had a foot. I love when that happens! Makes the driving horrible but it’s sooooo pretty. We call these mid/late March storms “sugar snow ” because lots of sugaring setups are already going. Enjoy it, Mavis!

Looks so beautiful!

Here in the UP we’re gearing up for our usual St. Patrick’s Day storm – 12-16 inches predicted.
I’m with you, I’ll miss it when it’s gone! Winter is my favorite season.

Beautiful! While I do miss changing seasons, I don’t miss shoveling snow, or mud! Although we don’t get snow, we have had a LOT of rain and chilly (for us) temps. I find coziness just watching the rain, while watching the hummingbirds at the feeder right outside the window. That, a soft blanket, and a good book. Ready to put out my seeds but it’s so soggy and a little too chilly, yet. So, like you just going cozy up inside and enjoy!

Last week we were hit with storms, the first left 8.5 inches, the second left 5, the third left another 3. It’s so beautiful when it snows, everything looks so clean…. then the plow comes through, the cars drive by and that clean white snow gets dingy and ugly. I want spring!

Here in iowa we are in mud season.. everything is brown and ugly. So ready for warmer temps and evening walks without a winter coat and hat.

So pretty but I can’t complain about our warm sunny day here in Oregon – I’ve been in the garden all day! Finally. 🙂

Today, the grandpuppy and I are enjoying the not-mud-yet season. That may start later today if the rain predicted comes and continues into tomorrow. We’ve spent 2 half hour sessions outside, and will go for a third in a few minutes. Itching to do *something* in the gardens, but won’t yet. It is too early.

I love your snow photos. It’s 83 F today and I am going for a swim in my pool shortly. I do not have to shovel sunshine.

In northern Nevada we went 60+ days with measurable snow on the ground. That is NOT normal. Then, we had rain to a high elevation so all the snow melted within two days. Now we are dealing with some flooding and a muddy driveway. I wish it would either freeze or finally dry out so we can get the driveway fixed.

This is a truly awesome post, and what a great stove (and spoiled dog :))! It wasn’t fun to have to clear all the snow out, but it’s beautiful outside now.
We hope you’re doing well, and all the old TF Rd people say hi :)!

I don’t live in an area that gets snow, but I have, and I LOVE the look of fresh snow on tree branches. That’s one of my favorite things in the whole world. Enjoy!!!

There is something wonderful about hibernating on a snowy day.

Ds goes to college in a small mountain in NC with lost of skiing. this is Spring Break and it has been at freezing and almost a foot of snow there.
We used to live 30 minutes from campus and I miss the snow. Never minded being snowbound, although our town handled it brilliantly and we lived less than a half mile from WM and a few fast food places.

Thank you for the beautiful pictures. We haven’t really had much snow in the last few years. I miss having atleast 1 or 2 snow days. Well, maybe next winter! I feel bad for those that have been unable to get out of their houses, with so much snow.
Whoa! We have full-blown Spring with tulips and blooming trees everywhere. This is the earliest I have ever had to get my grass cut. It’s crazy. I usually can wait until May… Lol. I am not complaining, just shocked.

I’m sooo jealous, our autumn is expecting 36⁰C in a couple of days, can’t wait for winter. Though we usually don’t get snow where I am, I’m curious how you deal with having a dog, toileting and why you move the snow and to where?

Beautiful pics. Here in Suffolk, UK, we have grey skies and drizzle which is also forecast for the next two weeks! Not much snow this year unfortunately and not much rain either so the farmers are complaining.
Veg is starting to grow and the tree blossom is on the verge of bursting forth. Daffodills waving from the roadside and the birds greeting us every morning plus the clocks will spring forward in a couple of weeks.
