Hello November. WOW! I can’t believe it’s here. Is it just me or has this year just FLOWN BY? And really, nothing too exciting has happened. Some years are like that I guess. Well, I guess this can only mean one thing… It’s time to get cracking and start researching recipes for Thanksgiving. This year I want to try some new side dishes. You probably already know about these, but one of our favorites is hash brown casserole, the kind containing tons of cheese/sour cream and topped by cornflakes. (The other day I asked the HH if he wanted to grill and he said it “wasn’t worth it” unless we had potato casserole!) Also favored at his parents’ house is the cranberry marshmallow fluff salad, which is on my list of family recipes to get. 🙂

Pea casserole! It sounds odd but it is delicious! Layer peas, hard boiled eggs (mashed up), cheddar cheese and cream of mushroom soup twice then top with french friend onions. 350 for 20 minutes. Trust me on this one!

Classic green bean casserole. Yes, with the can of cream of mushroom soup. I couldn’t live without it at Thanksgiving and Christmas day (or around there). My niece made a fancy one without the can and I told her that she cannot make that again, she will have to wait for us old guard to die – there are some traditions that cannot be changed. HA!
And raspberry/cranberry/pineapple/apple Jello salad. LOVE IT!!!
