Did you go to Costco last week? Did you buy anything exciting? I popped in for milk and eggs and ended up grabbing some of those delicious Food Should Taste Good chips, apricots and a case of Odwalla smoothies that I {thought} were on sale. It turned out I bought the wrong ones {the smaller ones were on sale} so I took them back and then FORGOT to get the right ones. Gaaa! I hate when that happens.
The HH was gone on business all of last week so our meals mostly consisted of freezer meals and breakfasts. I am lazy like that when he’s away. 🙂  Lucy the puggle princess snuggles next to him every night. She missed him dearly. We did too of course, but I think it’s harder on her.
Eggs, spinach, black beans and breakfast weenies.Â
Homemade blackberry jam.
The 2 dozen blueberry muffins we made lasted all week!
Pancakes. Lot’s and lot’s of pancakes.
Some weeks it seems like I never step foot out of the kitchen. And others, I’m hardly there because of all the meals I have stashed away in the freezer. And honestly, I don’t think I’d have it any other way.

Mavis, can you share your recipe for blueberry muffins? I know I can google, but sometimes I try recipes and they dont turn out quite right….the struggle…it’s real!

You’re an inspiration! Slowly, taming the grocery bill…. and sure enough, that means making more of our breads and treats. I do like Costco when I have a list and think before buying. ha-ha. So easy to spend several hundred $$ and end up donating 1/2 of it to food banks 6 months later… and THAT is a trend that must stop if the grocery bill is to get under control.
