Costco $21.68
The Girl wanted to make a batch of homemade granola this week so I had her pick up a ridiculously large bag of almonds at Costco. Since the kids went a little overboard last week and bought too much, my plan was to buy as little as possible this time around.
Spooner Farms $48
Then I called the berry farm to see when they were going to start selling strawberries {usually it’s the end of June} and they said they were selling them NOW because of the mild winter we had.
So we stocked up! We made 22 jars of strawberry jam and froze the rest of the berries to use for smoothies this winter.
Even though I’m doing the whole Living off a 30 Day Supply of Emergency Food… my family is not. 😉 Here are a few of the meals they ate this week {The Girl did most of the cooking so I’m not sure what else she made}.
Pancakes and bacon. My daughter LOVES to make two things… Pancakes and potatoes. It’s pretty hilarious. She probably makes those two meals at least 2 -3 times a week.
The treat of the week was 5 dozen chocolate chip cookies. With 2 kids in the house right now they went through them in about 3 days.
Turkey, mashed potatoes and corn. It’s pretty much a staple around here. We also made a turkey pot pie with the leftovers.
We finally went through the giant bag of Rhodes rolls I picked up at Costco earlier this year. The kids and the HH love them {and hello… they are so easy to bake}.
Pork ribs, Zaycon breaded chicken mashed potatoes and you guessed it, corn.
Strawberry shortcake {with sour cream scones}. It was torture to prepare this and hand off the plates to my family without getting a bite of any of it.
We are starting to pick peas! I think I’ll mad a stir fry tonight since we have more to pick.
And last but not least, the kids picked up a pizza from Papa Murphy’s on Saturday.
How about you? What are you buying lately? Are farm fresh strawberries available in your area yet?

Hi Mavis! Question about the turkey dinner, do you roast whole turkeys or is the turkey something you pick up at Costco?
