Ingredients

- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup margarine
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 4 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 eggs
For the Frosting
- 1/2 cup margarine
- 6 tablespoons milk {I used 2%}
- 4 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 16 oz powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Line an 11×16 pan with parchment paper and set aside.
- Put the flour and sugar in a large mixing bowl and set aside. In a large saucepan, put the margarine, shortening, cocoa powder and water together and bring to a boil {stirring constantly}. Pour the mixture into the flour mixture and mix well. Slowly add the buttermilk, baking soda, eggs and vanilla and stir until combined.
- Pour batter on to lined pan and bake at 375 for 18-22 minutes.
- To make the icing, place the margarine, milk and cocoa in a large saucepan and bring to a boil. Remove from heat, stir in powdered sugar and vanilla. Ice brownies while hot.
- Let set for 15-20 minutes and then serve. Yummm a roo!
