I think January-February is lemon season. I haven’t seen more than a few Meyer lemons around my area, so I usually end up ordering from the Lemon Ladies in California. I’m going to place one more order this year. I made some marmalade a month ago, and have been enjoying it. If I’m to have a stash of it last until next year, I need to make some more! We don’t have a Costco, but we have Sam’s, and I have never seen any there.

There is no way that I would call ground hog a delicacy. And yes, people do eat it. Stewed usually. Very greasy and stringy. Flavor, well it’s meat and protein. How do I know this? Well, used to live in WV, and some stories are better not written.

Yes! People do eat groundhog. Or did anyway. I’m from the Appalachian are of VA and my mom are some back in the day.
She said it was greasy and not good. They prb ate it during the depression or something!

People not only did eat groundhog, but DO eat groundhog. I grew up in Pike Co., Ohio. I ate it growing up, along with all my family. Most of them don’t anymore, because they don’t do much hunting anymore. I haven’t eaten one for a while. the coyotes really depleted the population in that area, because woodchucks are easy prey for the coyote. They ARE NOT greasy by any means. After all, you are supposed to cut all fat off the animal, including the grey or yellowish tan scent glands found under the hide. Cooked sow and slow, they are excellent table fare. Mouth-watering bbq as well!
