We used one of those door guards to keep the basement door from accidentally closing, so our cats could always access their litter box. I didn’t want to cut a hole in the door to install a pet flap, so it was the perfect solution. Eventually when we had to babyproof, I just added a simple chain latch to the door: it opened just enough for the cat, but not enough for our toddler to squeeze through, and the door guard still kept it from fully closing.

Ha, ha! Down here in Tifton, GA, its supposed to be around 90 also. But after having days in the high 90s and low 100s we are sighing with relief instead of concern! I can hardly wait for fall!
