Quote of the Day “To love someone is to strive to accept that person exactly the way he or she is, right here and now.” Mr. Rogers
Hello Tuesday! Anyone have anything exciting planned for today? I think I’ll work on drawing out patterns for my Etsy shop and work on getting my studio space cleaned up and maybe some of my hooked rugs hung on the way. Rain is in the forecast for this afternoon ,so it seems like the perfect day to put a pot of soup on the wood stove and and just take it easy.
Wishing you a wonderful Tuesday,
♥ Mavis & Lucy

I know you are enjoying cooking on your wood stove top. Something about it, just makes things feel a little more homey. I enjoy reading about your new home. Seems like such an adventurous fresh start!

Ticks! Check yourself carefully! Lymes disease is really ugly and can be debilitating. Don’t know what you can do for Lucy other than carefully removing them.- the Vet would be your best bet although animal feed stores have lots of info. Good luck and be vigilant!

I use Advantix II along with flea & tick collars on my dogs. I am going to spray my yard this year as well, they seem to be worse this year. I tried Comfortis (a pill) in the past and my dog did not tolerate it well at all.

I have read in a gardening magazine, I believe, that chickens are great for ticks! They pick through the grass and find them all and eat them. Hope that is encouraging to you. Also, usually a vet will prescribe something for Lucy to take to prevent Lyme’s disease, and it will be based on her weight.

I would recommend Advantix II (2) for Lucy. I live in sunny South Florida where bugs thrive and mom to 2 fur babies of my own. Advantix II works great in keeping fleas and ticks, off of my little ones 🙂

Time to get a few Guinea Hens!!!!!!!! Best fowl for eliminating ticks and snakes along with being the best darn guard birds ever. Just make sure you get keets and due to adult Guinea hens will not stay on property unless they are raised on the property, really. They will not destroy your garden like chickens. But the best part is ……..they are awesome to watch. The hens say ” buckwheat ” when they speak and the males just say “buck”.
The places in your yard look identical to our yard over here in N. Idaho and sorry to say we have “voles”, not moles. Voles leave the crazy looking above ground like tunnels you show in your pic. Here’s a link that might help:
