Mavis, we were going to get chicks a few years ago, but put it on hold. This year, we were able to do it, and I brought home 6 chicks recently. It looks like we have our own Lucy, one of my older dogs. He is completely in love, totally fascinated by the chicks, and incredibly gentle. He just sits by the door of the laundry room until the next time I go in to check on them. He’s rather visit with the chicks than go for a walk!

I’m so glad to hear that! I think the key is introducing the baby chicks to dogs at the very beginning so they holds the dogs interest and then checking on them becomes part of their daily routine. Then once the chicks are older… the dog sees them as buddies. Congrats!!!
