Quote of the Day “A man’s health can be judged by which he takes two at at time – pills or stairs.”
Yesterday afternoon I played hooky from the blog so I could finish my double rabbit rug. I have never hooked a rug this size with such a flashy background color before and I was nervous about how it would turn out. I really like it though and it reminds me that it’s good to get out of our comfort zone every once in awhile. 😉
Do you have any plans for the weekend? I am going to try and finish up the painting in the bathroom.
Have a great weekend everyone,
♥ Mavis

The Things We Keep was an awesome book. It’s a tearjerker though.
I haven’t read Still Alice yet, but my sister said it’s similar.
Love the rug-hooking is something I would love to try again–made a couple small things from kits back in the 90’s.
Ranee says
Love the rug – love the bunny – love the colors. We are moving into a “new” old home – has a bit of a cottage feel to it and your rug would look terrific in front of the fire place. I’m sure my 2 cats would really appreciate it too. Heh. If I ever get settled (it’s complicated) I would love to try this art. You are very talented. Ranee (MN)

Hi Mavis,
Did you ever add a third or fourth part to your blog series on primitive rug hooking? I saved the first article about getting started with wool and tools, and the second article about dying the wool. At the end of the second entry, you mention a third entry about how to actually make a rug. I haven’t been able to find it on your site. I think it was about a year ago…
Just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy your blog. I am not the greatest housekeeper, but I have been so encouraged by your “getting rid of 1000 things.” Clutter is so overwhelming, but I am trying to tackle it bit by bit! Thank you for the encouragement & ideas!!!!
Mavis Butterfield says
I haven’t yet. I need to do it. 🙂
