Vacation mode. That’s what we’re on right now. I think. This past week we grabbed take out and had dinner on the beach. We also went out for pizza one night and happy hour the next {half price pickety bits between 3-5 pm? Yes please!}.
And then there was the nursery that sold pies, which was a nice surprise because who can say no to a fresh baked pie in the middle of June? I know I can’t.
We also got an invite to meet up with some friends at the Portsmouth farmers market on saturday, so we went! And they had pies there too, this time it was a strawberry rhubarb one. I’m a sucker for pies… Did I mention that?
There were stuffed popovers {who knew that was a thing?} and an impromptu visit to Strawbery Banke Museum.
Oh, and there were also a few trips to the ice cream stand {a necessity in my book once it reaches the mid 70’s}. We didn’t have any particular place to go, or things to do… So we just went with the flow and had a great time.
Vacation mode. Or is it staycation mode? I don’t know, but I think that’s what we’re on. And I kind of like it.
Lucy doesn’t seem to mind either. 😉

Forgive my curiosity but what was in the chip dip and did you like it? Looks like cheesy sauauge maybe? Also do you know what plant will be growing up the trellis on the back of the white house? I looked at the web sight and there was not a lot of information. Everything looks so lovely.

It was artichoke spinach dip. Delicious! I’m not sure what was growing up the side of the house. Sorry.

Our Summer Saturday tradition is to take breakfast to the nearby lake park. We have fun watching the kayak and standing board renters and there is a model sailboat club that holds races on the lake on Saturdays. No matter how hot it is there is a pleasant breeze there.

Oh my goodness, that sounds lovely!

My daughter has a tradition that on her children’s birthdays (9 and 7 years old) they do breakfast at the beach. They scour for anything that the tide has washed up, look for sea life and dig in the sand. The kids looks forward to it every year. It’s all about making memories…

Sorry I missed you at Strawbery Banke…Saturday was my day off! Please come back in late July when the garden at the Governor Goodwin Mansion is at its peek. And if you move close by you would be great at gardening or role playing. Or come visit us again in December for the Candlelight Stroll.
