Looking for something fun {and inexpensive} to do with the kiddos this summer? There are theaters throughout the country that reserve selected showtimes or days and discount their tickets like crazy. Some play current movies while many bring back recent favorites that aren’t even available in theaters anymore. It’s cheap clean fun for the whole family. Here are some theaters participating:
Regal Cinemas {that includes United Artists and Edwards Cinemas} is once again hosting the Summer Movie Express on Tuesdays & Wednesdays at 10am for nine weeks. Admission is $1 and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Will Rogers Institute. Go HERE to see movies listings in your area.
The Harkins Summer Movie Fun program for kids has brought back some of Hollywood’s best family films to keep kids entertained and cool during the summer. Kids can enjoy a movie a week for 10 weeks, for less than $1 per film.
CineMark Summer Movie Clubhouse is a 10-week program of recently released G and PG movies for kids. Day, times and showing are determined by the local theater. You can buy a punch card to all $10 movies for only $5 or they are $1 at the door.
Head to participating Marcus Theater locations on Sundays, Mondays and Wednesdays at 10AM, June 14 – August 12 to view your favorite family flicks for just $3.00! Or you can grab FREE tickets by stopping by a participating local American Family Insurance agent’s office.
Head to any Cineplex Theaters {For my Canadian readers} Saturday mornings at 11am for Cineplex Family Favourites. Watch a family favorite film each week for only $2.99. A portion of the proceeds goes towards supporting Free The Children.

Thanks for the post. My son and I frequently take advantage of the free/cheap movies in our area during the summer; so much more affordable than paying full price that we’re able to go several times during the summer (sometimes two days in the same week!). Marquee cinemas also has a summer children’s movie promotion. Frank theaters might, too; that’s our local theater chain, and I just emailed them yesterday to inquire but they said they don’t have a schedule yet because they’re still looking for sponsors.

Fourteen years ago I took my kids to a few of the free movies at Regal cinemas here in NE OHIO. We had the best times with those shows. Glad they are still doing it.
