Do you have any holiday parties this season? These candy cane vases make great hostess gifts. They are cute, festive, and best of all, a little while later, your recipient will get the added bonus of a flower in the dead of winter. How nice are you?
You’ll need:
- Glass vase/container
- Small rocks
- Potting soil
- Bulbs {Paperwhites or Amaryllis}
- Zots {scrapbooking glue dots}
- Candy canes
- A bow
Directions:
Place enough rocks in the bottom to fill the bottom of the vase about 1/4 of the way.
Set your bulb, pointed side up on top of the rocks. Fill the space around the bulb with potting soil, but leave the pointed top of the bulb exposed.
Start sticking your candy canes to the outside of the vase using the Zots. Tie a ribbon around the outside of the candy canes {it will look nice and it will help with a little added security to keep the candy canes in place}.
Have the recipient stick the vase in a sunny spot, water periodically, and wait. {I like to start this process early, so that the bulbs will be nearly ready to bloom when it is time to gift the vase.}
