While the HH and I were on our drive up the coast last week to Winter Harbor, Maine we stopped off at Dot’s for a quick bite. We had never been there before but once we opened the doors and took a few steps inside, I knew we had found a winner. 😉
You know what I love seeing when I step into a bakery/cafe? Happy people with a nice range in age from high school kids working a summer job, to grannies who know the ropes. Peeps making real food {as opposed to pulling half baked processed frozen stuff out of a food service box} in a nice and clean atmosphere, basically a place that I could see myself working in. And well, Dot’s Market and Cafe in Lincolnville, Maine is just that sort of place.
Homemade cookies, fresh baked bread, pastries, delicious soups in the refrigerated cases along with local beverages and salami and cheese for those wanting to pack a picnic lunch, and oodles of sandwiches, salads and sides to choose from on the menu. At Dot’s they’ve got it all!
While the HH was placing our order I even noticed roasted chickens and a turkey on the prep counter! Seriously. This place is the real deal.
If you ever find yourself driving up the mid-coast of Maine, we can’t recommend Dot’s Market and Cafe in Lincolnville enough. It’s simply delicious.
Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone, try and stay out of trouble. 😉

I think the Polka Dot is a red. My neighbor is a wine dealer? And he gave some to my mom and she loved it! lol. Wonderful place. Wish I was there. 🙂

And I thought $1 per muffin in my area was crazy. But, $2.95 is just outrageous. Would never pay it. Learn how to bake. Freeze extras if you don’t have a household to share it. The house smells amazing and you know what ingredients went into the making of it.

To C Cannon: live a little for goodness sakes and give yourself a treat now and then.
Mavis, don’t you just love it when you see a fresh roasted turkey and know that the wonderful place you are going to get a bite to eat puts the time and effort to give you something wonderous to eat!
Glad you had such a nice outing, well deserved in this life to treat ourselves with the one we love.
