A big thank you to Frieda’s Specialty Produce for letting me be a part of their Year of Purple campaign. This was the first time I had tried acai berry juice, and holy canolie people, it was delicious.
We love smoothies around here so I decided to whip one up with the acai berry juice. The HH walked over to see what I was making and took a taste and before I knew it I was making him a double tall smoothie. Yummalicious!
Here is the recipe:
Ingredients
1 cup Acai berry juice
1/2 cup strawberries {I used frozen berries}
1 ripe banana
1/4 cup plain {or vanilla} yogurt
1 cup crushed ice {if not using frozen strawberries}
Directions
Add the ingredients to a blender and blend for about 30 seconds.
Drink up!

Favorite lately is 1c Silk Fruit and Protein, 1c Water, half a tray of ice cubes, a scoop of vanilla protein shake and a half cup of blueberries. Also love 1c of water, 1c of coffee, a scoop of chocolate protein shake and a frozen banana. Thanks for the recipes.

What is Acai juice and where do you buy it?

I recommend you use frozen acai packs for smoothies. The juices are reprocessed from the purees and they strip out most of the valuable nutrients in the processing. That is why many add back coloring to the juice after they process. You can find good organic acai purees online or at stores to buy. I would avoid the ones that have soy additives, that indicates they have extra processing and again less nutrition remaining in their products.
