Last year around this time, the HH and I were in Walpole, Massachusetts when I got the craving for something sweet. I typed “local bakeries” into my phone and up popped Ever So Humble Pie Company… and so we started driving towards the bakery.
At first, we thought Google maps had it all wrong because it took us to an old factory off the beaten path, but eventually I spotted a sign on the building and we pulled into a parking spot.
Now I’ll admit, Ever So Humble Pie Company doesn’t look like your typical bake shop from the outside… and once you walk through the front doors for the first time and you’re greeted by a room full of chest freezers, it still leaves you a little confused. But once you get your bearings, you’ll quickly realize you have stumbled upon something pretty magnificent.
A pie factory. A genuine pie factory!!!!
With 10 million {okay, not that many} freezers filled with every pie imaginable.
Fruit pies, savory pies, quiche…
Whoopie pies, tea breads, you name it, they’ve got it.
Ever So Humble Pie Company in East Walpole, Massachusetts occupies 3 floors in the building and not only makes pies for the local farmers market, but it makes pies for local farm stands and fundraisers as well.
Seriously! Wouldn’t you rather order a homemade pie for a school fundraiser than magazines or wrapping paper? What a totally genius idea.
Yada yada yada… we bought 3 mini pies. Apple, cherry and mincemeat.
And without a doubt, they were the best “store bought” pies we have ever eaten. The crust was PERFECT, and the filling spot on. And now I want to work in a pie factory and eat pie all day.
So. If you ever find yourself even remotely near Walpole, Massachusetts you need to stop by and grab a pie. You won’t be disappointed. Trust me. 🙂 🙂 🙂
Have a great weekend everyone,

Not sure if you’ve seen it, for your Friday night movie tonight, free on Prime, take a look at This Beautiful Fantastic. Very British, quiet, easy going, lots of gardening. I watched it a couple of nights ago. Really enjoyed it although quite predictable. It was in my “recommended” feed after catching up on Downton Abbey.

This reminds me that I have a mini pie iron in my cabinet that I need to try out. We’re going apple picking next week, so this could work out very nicely.

They have recalled King Arthur unbleached flour.
