There are two churches on Fair Isle, this one is the Methodist Chapel and it was built in 1886. The stone work and stained glass was so beautiful, I just had to share.
What a gift it’s been to be able to spend a few weeks in such a beautiful place. I’m working my way back home right now, and if all goes as planned, I should be back home tomorrow evening.
If I had to guess, I suspect my husband will be running around today {and most of tomorrow} working on the to-do list I left him, doing laundry, and tidying up the house. 🙂
Have a wonderful weekend everyone, wherever you may be. I hope you’ve enjoyed this journey as much as I have.
~Mavis

Safe travels, and may you return to a clean house and a little furry pup that dearly missed you.
I hope that you will consider blogging in detail about your adventure-what made you go there, how you planned it all, a cost estimate, how your cottage was, what you wold do differently if anything, what you suggest for other travelers , etc. I am really inspired to travel to that region, and would love to know more. thank you and get home soon.

Congratulations on achieving such a brave goal of a solo trip! Your adventurous spirit was a pure delight. I think you must have left the freezer stocked for the next guest too with treats galore!
My favorite was seeing your talents in matching the landscape with your newly dyed wool drying in the sunshine.
Enjoy your beautiful memories as you wend your way back home to Maine.

Mavis my dear,
You have NO idea how much I’ve enjoyed reading/learning/seeing stuff about your trip! You are my hero and I am seriously going to consider traveling solo myself, one of these days. You are brave but you make it all seem so easy! You are such a great photographer and all of your photos are just such a joy to look at. I have been on pins and needles each day of your trip, hoping to read more about your journey! I LOVE that little grocery store! And your bunny jello, lol! And that guy, the Bed and Breakfast dude? Seems like such a cool cat! Thank you so much for posting every day, cool stuff for all of us out here.
