The weather was so nice yesterday {60°!} the HH brought the tile saw out to the back deck and worked outside in the warm sunshine for the first time in months.
I took Lucy for a long walk around the property looking for bulbs that might be popping through the soil or any other signs of spring. We found a few iris bulbs near the road with about an inch of growth, but no signs of tulips or daffodils yet.
You know you live in New England if…. you still have your Christmas wreath up. 🙂
This time of year always makes me a little nervous, it’s almost like a little warning that you better hurry up with all those indoor wintertime projects because spring is right around the corner.
When spring hits here in Maine, it’s like a switch that gets flipped on and then it’s go, go, go and there’s no rest until fall. I love it.
Luckily though, we still have a few more weeks of winter. Tomorrow we’ll likely get 5-8″ of snow. How wild is that? Sunny and 60 yesterday, and snow tomorrow.
And our major project for this weekend? Setting up the sap buckets. 🙂 Yee-Haw! We noticed 2 properties in town have there’s up already {one of the places has about 50 sap buckets set up} so we’re pretty confident it’s time to get the show on the road around here.
The Girl is planning on comming up next week too, so if we get enough sap, I guess we’ll start boiling. Our own maple syrup! How cool would that be? I’m so excited.
Wishing you the best of Thursdays,
~Mavis

Good morning to you up in Maine, Mavis!! Could you send a little ❄❄❄ down here to Georgia? We barely got any this winter. I still have hot chocolate to go with it!! Lol. I am glad that we already have daffodils, but I am not ready to start mowing the lawn.

I set up my three sap buckets but it is still a little early yet here in Illinois so I’m not getting much sap yet. I’m curious how much you spent on your equipment. I got mine online.

I would love to have sap buckets attached to my trees.
