The Girl and I were walking towards the waterfront in downtown Belfast last week when we walked by Fiddlehead Artisan Supply. The window displays were eye-catching and while we weren’t sure exactly what type of art supply store it was, we decided to pop inside.
And boy were we pleasantly surprised!
On the left side of the store there were art supplies galore, we found everything from paint brushes and paint to supplies for practically any sort of art project you could dream up.
Giant rolls of crepe paper! I have no idea what you would use it for but there was tons of it.
There was also every color of felt squares you could imagine.
And beautiful pieces of cardstock and all sorts of paper supplies including papers for origami and book making. They even had supplies for block printing, jewelry making and needle felting.
The assortment there was crazy cool.
We didn’t want to leave!
But the cool part about this “art supply” store, was that not only did it offer every art supply imaginable, but Fiddlehead Artisan Supply also has an enormous supply of quilting fabric as well.
This place was hopping! I love it when I find thriving independent stores with quality products and happy customers.
The HH was with us so we were only about to spend about 30 minutes inside wandering around {The Girl found some watercolor supplies and I went home with a few yards of wool} but we are already looking forward to our next visit the next time she’s here.
Fiddlehead Artisan Supply in Belfast, Maine. Check them out! It’s just another reason to visit this great state.
Here’s to a productive and creative weekend,

The crepe paper is probably used to make giant crepe paper flowers.

I love vivid colors and when I go places like bead shops or fabric stores I have a hard time not buying things—and I don’t bead or sew!

My father always sat in the car (or nearby) to read a paperback book while we were in stores. Had no patience for that nonsense, either!

Oh wow! Cloth too!? Good to know as fabric stores and disappearing.

We went into that store when we vacationed there last September. It was very enjoyable!

Mavis – have you changed your email distribution? I cannot mark these feed blitz as safe!

I could get lost in that store. By the way, have you ever eaten fiddleheads? My Mum and I used to forage gor them on Vancouver Island in the Spring. Boil, then saute with butter and garlic. I wonder where I could find out how to grow them. On a quest. Have a good day Mavis.
