Last night I was looking through my photos and realized I forgot to tell you about all the wonderful birdhouses we saw on the Secret Gardens of the Kennebunks tour last summer.
I shared pictures of Bee Haven and highlights of the other gardens we visited but totally forgot about the beachside garden with the birdhouses.
I thought today would be the perfect day for them.
After all, it’s currently 11 degrees at our place and there is a three foot snow heap in the backyard.
As much as I love the coziness of winter, I could sure use a little visual cue that warmer weather and summer skies are in fact right around the corner.
This long birdhouse with its rusty tin top was my favorite one.
With all the snow on the ground it’s hard to believe that we’re only about 6 weeks away from the great thaw and being able to get out there and enjoy being outside again.
Spring, I am SOOO looking forward to it.
And maybe making a few birdhouses of my own too.
Have a great day everyone, stay warm!

My favorite is the one with an old key as the perch. Here in Piedmont NC the bluebirds have begun staking out which house they want. We’ve got 1/4″ of snow on the ground. Yes, I’m a little envious of your snow!

It’s nice to see the birdhouses and the beautiful gardens! I can’t wait to see pictures when your bulbs start popping out of the ground.

And the birdhouse made from corks! So interesting to see the beach in the background. My neighbors have a waterfront view with lovely gardens, just not that many birdhouses!

Those are nice birdhouses, and the ones I enjoy the most are the ones with a camera on them so you can watch the birds up close! I looked on Amazon and they’re a bit expensive, though worth it for bird lovers!
