Quote of the Day “Despite all I have seen and experienced, I still get the same simple thrill out of glimpsing a tiny patch of snow in a high mountain gully and feel the same urge to climb towards it.” ~ Edmund Hillary
Hello Friday! Thank you for all the wonderful Thanksgiving messages. Yesterday the temps dipped down to 8 degrees {Wowza!} and Lucy had to wear her magic shoes outside. I am so glad we bought a pair before we moved. They seem to keep her tootsies warm and she doesn’t seem to mind wearing them.
I hope you woke up this morning to a full fridge and a weekend worth of of leftovers. The HH had a slice of pie this morning for breakfast but you know, I guess anything goes the day after Thanksgiving, right? 🙂
Have a great day everyone, stay warm and stay out of trouble this weekend.
♥ Mavis

Geeze Mavis! Everybody eats pie for breakfast after Thanksgiving! And leftover birthd cake for breakfast the day after your bday! Get with the program! A little whip or ice cream goes well with that!

Oh, neat. So where I live, the Kroger affiliate is Mariano’s. Every week that I’ve seen, the Free Friday Download has been the same as what you posted, but in my Mariano’s email this morning, it’s different. Ours is a free 3 oz Candle-Lite Holiday Candle. I’ve never seen it NOT match yours, but here we our, interesting!

I’m glad you said something…I almost forgot it was Friday! You’d think black Friday would be the tip off but I guess I have too much turkey on the brain! My Kroger has the candles as well 🙂

I believe pie is actually a traditional New England breakfast. I could be wrong about the exact origins and region, but I think it is a northeast thing, and I think it may have originated when pies were made in bulk and frozen in outbuildings to preserve them–that wouldn’t be possible in the south. Further proof, if you needed it, that you belong in New England!

One of my traditions is having pie for breakfast the day after. I so look forward to it.

My HH and I had pie for breakfast also this morning. We live in south La so I would venture to say no matter what part of the country you live in eating pie the day after Thanksgiving is acceptable

Loved the picture of Lucy decked out in her winter gear. Made me laugh because the previous pictures showed her without booties and I thought she needed to being wearing something on those paws. Made me laugh when several pictures later she was looking smart with her winter shoes.

On your posts is an advertisement entitled “a message from Tom Ford” that has offense language on their products. Are you aware of it?

Just don’t click on those things…Mavis has no control of what pops up.
