At least you were tied down. I never have anyone to help me so I do it solo but stay on the ladder. You’ve got so many trees around you cleaning the roof must be aregular activity. Do you have gutter guards? You only have to clean once ayear with those guards.

I am always up on the roof blowing leaves in the fall and in spring blowing off the maple seed helicopters. My roof isn’t at a bad slope like the one pictured.

When we repainted our 1910 Craftsman style bungalow in Portland, DH lost his nerve for the top part. Soooo he sent me up with the spray gun and the rope tied to him on the other side as my counterbalance. I guess he thought I was dispensable. I sprayed enough paint that we didn’t have to paint for a long time.

We have a problem with pine needles. We had gutter gards installed, but I think they are not workng – the needles lay on top of gards and we still have to use the plower. Does anyone have a better idea? We are getting too old to manage the roof.
