This weekend, I am going to start up watching Doc Martin. I’ve seen a few of these episodes in the past but now that hot cocoa and foot pajama season is upon us, The Girl and I thought now was the perfect time to watch the entire series.
It’s about a surgeon, who develops an aversion to blood, so he moves out to the country to practice medicine in a town where he is the only doctor. It is classic British humor–which at this point, it is no secret that I love all things British. Plus, bonus: it is FREE with Amazon Prime. Yippee!
Let me know what you think if you decide to watch it–or if you have already seen it.
Peace out Girl Scouts & have yourself a great weekend,
~Mavis

Oh I am sure you will enjoy it. I missed most of the first series but have avidly watched the last. Martin Clune is an excellent actor. I love the village it is set in.

I love the British series. I was couch bound from a broken leg recently so broke out the dvd’s of Vicar of Dibley, Doc Martin,
and Good Neighbours to watch again since laughter helps healing.

Oh I definitely love Doc Martin!! But am not a happy camper as I will have to wait 2 years for the installment IF they continue the series. I have watched it all from beginning to end. Free with One Channel on Google TV and/or Roku box if you don’t have Amazon Prime and really want it to be free – free. I love most things British, not all as they don’t have censorship. LOL But almost all British shows are a must around here. Can hardly wait for the Christmas special of Open All Hours which began taping 2 days ago!!!!

I watched quite a few of them, then I couldn’t take any more of the character’s “quirks.” It just seemed to start into a repeating cycle of how he relates to others. I can’t be specific without spoilers!
I love British Humor, but this series didn’t do it for me.
I prefer British crime or mystery type series. Like Cracker.

I also love the Doc Martin series. I just got done with the 6th season this week. Roku has an app. that is called Acorn. It has all t.v. shows that are British. Have fun watching it!

I LOVE Doc Martin. My UK friends have just started watching the latest season, and two of those wonderful friends have bought and shipped to me the ‘Gone Bodmin’ t-shirt from the Doc Martin webshop. I can’t wait for the latest season to be available here on Netflix or Roku. Another UK series I enjoy, that is a decade or so old now, is ‘Kingdom’. If you end the Doc Martin series with a serious case of withdrawal, you might try Kingdom to ease the symptoms. To me Doc Martin is like Northern Exposure, in a way. (Big city doctor moves to small remote village full of quirky characters.) I loved that series, too.
Re Doc Martin, there are also two movies (that I know of), that preceded the series. One is called ‘Doc Martin’, and the other is ‘Doc Martin: The Legend of the Cloutie.’ Both are fun.

I love the series…but even more I love the location. Even went as far as looking up cottages in the area.
