Peggy Ann in CT says
I remember playing John Denver and The Carpenters albums nonstop during 7th and 8th grades.
I really enjoyed this documentary. It was well done and filled with all of the favorite songs.
I was fortunate to see him in concert while attending college in Buffalo in the ’80s.
To this day Annie’s Song still makes me well up. Enjoy!

I’m with Peggy Ann … played his albums on my parent’s record player cabinet til the grooves were gone in junior high school. Loved his music and iconic “look” so much that I wore same the wire rimmed eyeglasses! I’ll be looking for this documentary for sure … and singing every word to every song. Thanks for triggering some wonderful memories, Mavis!

Our PBS station showed this a year ago and it led me back to John Denver’s music. Have been listening a lot on YouTube and Spotify.
You might enjoy David Mallett (JD covered several of his songs), who wrote “The Garden Song.” His CD “Greenin’ Up” would appeal to any gardener/nature lover. According to his website, he tours regularly in his home state of Maine and is also appearing in the Northwest in June 2016.
Mavis, thanks for your hard work…I check by here every day!

Being a “70’s” girl-I was a big fan of JD. I moved to Park City Utah from Southern CA as soon as I graduated from High School to be a Ski bum for a season. We rented a lodge with many other ski bums from all over the country. I played John Denver so often that one day I came home and found my John Denver vinyl record nailed to the wall…
I guess they didn’t share my enthusiasm…
