A while back I started watching The Roosevelts – An Intimate History, and let me tell you bob, I am L-O-V-I-N-G it. It is fascinating…and awe inspiring and about 14 hours long. {Fair warning!!} I seriously recommend putting it on your watch list {it’s free for Prime Members, and broken up into 7 parts}.
Let me know what you think if you decide to watch it–or if you have already seen it.
Peace out Girl Scouts & have yourself a great weekend,
~Mavis

I did watch the Roosevelts over several nights when it aired on PBS. I am Canadian but still found all 3 of them to be so fascinating.

I haven’t watched The Roosevelts, but I will put that on my list. However, one of my favorite documentaries is the PBS American Experience film Eleanor Roosevelt. I used to show it in my women’s studies classes. It was a little long for class (would take 2-3 days) but students usually loved it too!

This sounds like a good movie to watch. I thought of you and your Friday night movies last night as I watched “The Way.” I laughed and cried throughout. I think you would love it (free on Prime)

My husband and I watched it when it first aired, and our son (13) joined us for about half of it. We are homeschoolers and I figured there wasn’t any better way to introduce him to that part of American history! I’ve been an Eleanor Roosevelt fan forever.

I watched it all when it first appeared on PBS. I love all of the Ken Burns programs, even the Dust Bowl. I have wondered if The Pioneer Woman’s inlaws endured all those year of Dust Bowl to have their successful ranch now? My grandparents tried the Oklahoma land rush. My aunt was born into Oklahoma indian territory. They did not get a successful acreage going, and returned home.

That is fascinating about your grandparents! Thanks for sharing.
