If you are looking for a guaranteed AMAZING movie to watch this weekend, I cannot recommend Lion enough. This is one of the best movies I have ever seen. You know how some movie affect you long after the credits stop rolling? That’s this movie. I sobbed. Like actually sobbed, and I’m not a crier. It was incredible! Here’s a little synopsis:
Five year old Saroo gets lost on a train which takes him thousands of miles across India, away from home and family. Saroo must learn to survive alone in Kolkata, before ultimately being adopted by an Australian couple. Twenty-five years later, armed with only a handful of memories, his unwavering determination, and a revolutionary technology known as Google Earth, he sets out to find his lost family and finally return to his first home.
Let me know what you think if you decide to watch it {and you totally should watch it} or if you loved it as much as I did if you have already seen it. Peace out Girl Scouts & have yourself a great weekend,
~Mavis

YES!! Loved it and cried like a baby too! It reminded us a little of Slumdog Millionaire, which we totally loved. He played the main character in that movie too.

I’m enjoying getting your reviews of these rather than just “this is a movie that I plan to watch” – thank you!

THIS movie moved me. You are right. It leaves a long lasting impression. The best was the closure comment at the end which I won’t repeat but explains the title.
I have been to India many times – one of my favorite places and this just really showed the true spirit.

We set out to see all the nominees this year and have been sorely disappointed! This movie tops our list so far, followed by A Man Called Ove and Hidden Figures.
