I feel like it has been an awfully long time since I’ve found a program I’ve wanted to share as a Friday Night at the Movies feature but here goes… A few nights ago I sat down to work on a hooked rug when the tv series, The Mill popped up on the screen. It’s a British program {of course} and it actually debuted way back in 2013 but hey, it was new to me so maybe it will be be new to you as well. 😉
The show “is based on real-life stories and people of the textile mill workers at Quarry Bank Mill in Cheshire, England, combined with fictional characters and events” taking place in “1830s Britain during the Industrial Revolution.”
There were only 2 seasons {10 episodes} made, but I’m half way through the series and so far I am loving it and just had to share in case you are looking for something to binge watch this weekend. 😉
Let me know what you think if you decide to watch it, or if you have already seen it.
Peace out Girl Scouts & have yourself a great weekend,
~Mavis

I couldn’t even watch the entire preview- YIKES! No thanks. As much as I love a good, clean, Brit series, this ain’t the one for me.

I found The Mill also & loved it. I’m always amazed what the human body and spirit can endure. If you have Netflix check out Travels with My Father which is hilarious. If only they wouldn’t use the “F” word.

Currently binging on Friends again before it leaves Netflix at the end of the year. Can’t believe how much has happened in just Season 1. Fun to watch it in order again after such a long time.

My mom just mentioned this same series to me last night, guess I need to check it out!

Right now I’m watching a show about a lady named Kathy who has a poultry hoard and dealing with the neighbors, town and animal sanctuary that want her to give up some of the poultry . The geese and ducks had never been in water! Very sad.
Travels with my Father is great but as earlier commenter started—too many F words.
The Mill is on my view list!

I have it on Amazon Prime (oh goodie) and will start watching it as my treat after I finish my fall housecleaning. (I have about 3 more days to go just for the good basics and not walls or oven)
Thanks!!! Looking forward to the binge-watch treat!!!

We tried watching it but it is too black on the screen to see well and the subject matter was just too sad for us.

Thank you for the recommendation! I’m really enjoying watching it this morning.
