Every once in a while, I go through a documentary kick. So when someone recently suggested Tim’s Vermeer, I put it on my to-watch list. It’s about a modern day artist that tries to figure out the art of Vermeer–which to be honest, I had never even thought to consider until I saw the intricacy in the trailer. Documentaries rock.
Let me know what you think if you decide to watch it–or if you have already seen it.
Peace out Girl Scouts & have yourself a great weekend,
~Mavis

Great movie. Changed the way I look at art forever.

My husband and I watched it and loved it! He has his degree in fine arts and found it quite interesting.

I have a degree in art and the beginning of the movie was really excellent. The end of the movie was like watching paint dry. It was still worth the time though.

You will never view Vermeer the same again! Absolutely fascinating…I guess I like to watch “paint dry”.

Someone recommended this to me a few years ago. No art background but I found it fascinating on the whole. Maria is right about the lag at the end but it is still very intriguing to think with a mirror and some paint mixing abilities you too could be a master! Enjoy!

I hope that you enjoyed it Mavis!!! I am so excited to see that you looked into it. I don’t know if anyone else had suggested it, but it made my day thinking that my suggestion made it to you. You never know when you make a recommendation to someone in the blog world bc I figure you get tons of suggestions, email, and comments.
