Ahhh, a good ol’ classic that requires a box of tissues. It’s been YEARS since I’ve seen Titanic and I’m wondering how much of it I remember. If you’ve never seen it, it tells a fictional story that takes place during the sinking of the Titanic. It has some great historical elements as well as a solid love story and some amazing acting by Kate Winslet and Leonardo Dicaprio. It’s long but if it’s anything like I remember, it’s worth the watch!
Have you seen it? If so, what did you think? Have you watched it recently? Was it still as awesome as you remembered?
Peace out Girl Scouts & have yourself a great weekend,

I just watched this recently with my daughter, and I still enjoy it. It got a lot of criticism back then, and I’m sure there are a number of possible compelling stories to equal or improve on the one they did about Rose and Jack, but I still like it. I don’t think anyone could have recreated the disaster any better than Cameron did.

I think it’s a great film, very well done, but it had a very strong effect on me and on my daughter. I saw it in the theater when it was new, and was just horrified that children had been brought to see it, who were hooting and laughing when the passengers were falling into the water, that laughter was very offensive to me. Then we watched it as a video when my daughter was in 9th grade, about a year after 9/11, and for her it brought back horrible memories of the news coverage of the people dropping from the Twin Towers, she started sobbing and screaming. She had not reacted strongly to 9/11 until we saw Titanic a year later! For me, too, the realization that this was a true story and that all those people died in the freezing water was overwhelming. That moment when Rose had to let go of Jack’s body is just heartbreaking. Be careful of the sensitivity of who’s watching. I suppose we are outliers in this, but …. I don’t think I want to see it again.

I also thought it was a great film, however, very heart rending. Just recently, I discovered Tubi TV (totally free movies online) and watched an older movie with Joely Richardson and Ted Danson called Loch Ness. Great movie that I’m sure (if you haven’t already seen it) you and your blog followers will really enjoy.
