Do your kids collect all sorts of treasures from the adventures over the year? If you are getting tired of their collections taking up space on every surface in their room, these easy homemade snow globes are a great way for them to preserve their treasures and make a cute little winter wonderland decoration. Best of all, there’s no water, which means easy storage and no mess.
Pretty much any trinket can be turned into a holiday scene–just add a couple of artificial snowflakes and some inexpensive holiday greenery.
You’ll need:
- Glass jars
- Trinkets to put in the jars {No trinkets? Just whip up some snowmen using foam balls and toothpicks or get an ornament from the dollar store}
- Artificial snow flakes
- Hot glue gun and glue
- Glitter spray paint
Directions:
Start by spraying the lid and bands of your jar with the glitter spray paint. Let it dry completely before moving on.
Flip over the lid and hot glue any treasures to the bottom side of the lid {the side that will be inside of the jar}.
Fill the jar about 1/4 full of snow. Place the lid on the jar and screw on the band. Flip the jar over, and voila, snow globe.
Take that overly-commercialized Christmas, we’ll just go ahead and make everything ourselves, thank you very much!
