Sometimes I’ll stumble onto a craft or game idea, make it, and end up enjoying it just as much as kids do. I seriously played with this for way longer than I’d like to admit! And it’s just a simple game to make, your kids could be in charge of this one.
Pull it out on a rainy day. Use it on car trips. Pass it around on play dates. The possibilities are endless.
Ingredients
A Mason jarUncooked rice
Small trinkets
Directions
Find small items and trinkets around the house. Lay them flat and take a picture of the items or record them on a piece of paper. Place the items in the bottom of a Mason jar and fill the jar almost full of rice. Seal the jar, and then go to town spinning and shaking the jar in search of the items. Check them off until you’ve found them all.
A fun, cheap and simple way to entertain me the kids!

I love this! And it has so much potential for other things like… putting in those little colorful plastic letters or numbers for the little ones just learning ABCs & 123s & colors etc, (with plastic jar of course). Or thematic items for parties (thinking baby and wedding showers, etc). Oh the possibilities.
I love checking in with you each day. You’ve always got such interesting things to share. Thanks! 🙂

What a hoot! I love this and expect I’d spent way too much time with it as well.
I especially like that you could customize it so much. Bravo, it’s a winner!

these are fun and great for kids. I would use a plastic jar with them, though. Perhaps an old peanut butter jar.
