    I would plant a gorgeous Norway Maple. We have one now in our front yard, but the people who planted it planted it under the utility wires and every year my heart gets broken when the utility company comes out and butchers it………….I would plant the new Ms. Maple way far back from any utilities!

    This is a hard question!! I would 100% for sure get a meyer lemon for in the house because my daughter loves lemons and we live in zone 4, so outdoor lemons are a no-go. But… seeing as the meyer lemons are only $49.99, then I’d also grab the chinese mormon apricot tree.

    After 9 years with no backyard neighbors I’ll like to plant some privacy trees and ones that grow fast. Canadian hemlock or Leyland Cypress seem like good choices.

    I would order the Meyer Lemon, and move it indoors into the guest room for the winter…..perfect light there. I would also order a granny smith apple tree, and then probably go overboard and order a bunch of the blueberries too…….love them for baking. Hubby would hate spending extra money, til he got to eat the fruits of these goodies! Then he’d probably want to take credit for the idea!

    I would get two of the Brazelberries Peach Sorbet Blueberry Bushes. It is hard to grow decent blueberries up here in Utah and I miss the days of picking my own for pancakes and buckle. 🙂

    As much as I’d love a lemon tree, I have to say I’d get a fast growing tree ~ hybrid poplar or willow. We have no shade trees on our property and I have struggled for 8 yrs. to get any to grow. Thank you for the giveaway!! 🙂

    It is a very hard decision you are asking us to make! I think if I went the fruit tree way here in Albuquerque it would be Bing Cherry and Apricot trees because I know they do well here. If I went the berry way….definitely Blueberries and Raspberries because I am originally from New England and miss them in my yard!

    I’d be sorely tempted by the Meyer Lemon tree, but I’m not exactly sure how to take care of it in my zone… so, the most pressing “need” of our garden would be the less spectacular (but more sturdy) addition of some evergreens for privacy and year-round structure.

    I would get a Little Gem Magnolia – have a bare spot from cutting down a dead pine tree, and I LOVE the smell of magnolia blossoms! Might have almost enough left over for one of the Meyer Lemons, too, hmm.

    I already follow you on FB as Cheryl Lynne and just posted over there as well. No idea what I would get as it seriously would depend on the freaking HOA. I wouldn’t mind a shade tree for the dogs, but I wouldn’t want it to take over the backyard as my garden would no longer grow all that well.

    I would love an almond tree. You could buy a few bags of almonds a year or one almond tree to last you a lifetime and spend the same amount!

    1. I would definitely buy the NE Almond tree! So excited! I was planning to plant some this fall anyway, so this would be a great way to get started. I might have to add a Meyer Lemon tree also; that is very tempting!

    I had to buy some lemons yesterday and could not believe how much they cost. I needed a lot. I bought 20 at 99c each…..ouch
    So having my own Meyer lemon tree, for so many good reasons including sharing with others would totally work out well for my family.
    Also maybe a Rabbiteye Blueberry bush for my Wife’s garden. She loves Blueberries. She also loves free stuff.

    Pick me! I would buy a fruit salad citrus tree. We bought one when my oldest son was born and everyone loved it! We moved from our home and decided to attempt to take it with us. I paid someone the insane price of $180 to replant it at our new house and, after many hours of watering it and praying for it’s soul, it died :(((( it is still sitting in my side yard dead as a door nail.

    I would pick a peach tree and lemon tree. I am so jealous of the climate where you live. You can grow so much food. Here in central TX it is too hot and we have drought conditions to do much of anything.

    No doubt, I’d buy at least one Meyer lemon. It’d be hard choosing what other trees I would get, but there’s certainly several on my list. We’re in the process of buy 47 acres and we plan to have a nice farm, so we need fruit, nut, and animal food trees to plant

    I would get a replacement pawpaw for the one that succumbed to ignorant weed whacking. TWICE. Poor thing rebounded after the first time. Have to have two, to pollinate each other. And, I might even grab a guava. I’ve never eaten guava… maybe I should taste it first?
