Remember that time I survived off a 30 Day Emergency Food Supply and lived to tell about it? One of the things I learned from that experience is that if I’m ever in an emergency situation, I’d happily live on Valley Food Storage Products. They are quite tasty and easy to prepare: two things that would come in handy in a crisis. Speaking of a crisis, the good people at Valley Food Storage decided to send me another cool product to check out: their Grab and Go Emergency Food/Supply Bucket.
While most of their products are geared towards long-term food storage, the Grab and Go Bucket is for short-term emergencies. Not only does it come with a week’s worth of food for 4 people {85 serving total} and some great emergency supplies and medical equipment, but they are all packed into one handy dandy bucket so it can easily be shoved in a trunk/RV/boat/cabin before a trip. If you’re stranded, lose power, find yourself stuck in a storm, just grab your bucket and you’re all set.
I think the buckets are totally rad. And this week, I’m going to crack one open and test out each and every product so you don’t have to {or who knows, I might just need your help with an item or two.. stay tuned!}. And after looking at the product list, this next week is going to be fun. Check out what’s included in addition to the week’s worth of tasty food:
- Survival Equipment
- 1 x SOL Emergency Blanket, (56″x84″)
- 1 x Fire Lite Fire Starter
- 4 x Tinder Quick Firestarter
- 1 x Slim Rescue Howler Whistle
- 1 x Button Compass
- 1 x Duct tape, (2″x26″)
- 1 x SOL Survival Instructions
- Medical Supplies
- 2 x Antiseptic Towelette
- 1 x Ibuprofen (200mg) 2/pkg.
- 1 x Triple Antibiotic Ointment, 0.5g
- 1 x Bandage, Adhesive, Fabric, Knuckle
- 2 x Bandage, Adhesive, Fabric (1″x3″)
- 1 x Safety Pin
- Additional Supplies
- 1 x Berkey Sport Bottle Portable Water Purifier

A water purifier? A howler whistle? A firestarter? This next week is going to be a blast. Beware random unsuspecting Washington residents walking down the street! You might just be pulled into my Grab and Go Bucket testing experiment.
You’ve been warned!

Let’s hope that in a real emergency one doesn’t actually need more than 26 inches of duct tape, 3 band-aids, or a single safety pin! 😉 Have fun with your latest adventure! Enjoying your blog from here on the East Coast…

I’m looking forward to this one! I’ve been looking at small emergency kits but have hesitated to buy any because I’m not sure the taste would be good.

What percentage of the “food servings” are composed of oatmeal? I couldn’t find what food is included in their online store…
