This one may be obvious, but I’m just gonna say it…
If you buy produce from the grocery stores, do yourself a favor. I mean, seriously, it takes 30 seconds, but I think it makes a huge difference.
Before throwing your fruits and veggies into the fridge drawer or a basket on the counter…
Take the grocery store sticker off.
You know what I mean, that insidious little plastic label with the bar code on it, that the grocery store sticks on produce…
Take it off when you unpack the groceries. Liberate those veggies from their little plastic label purgatory and let their beauty shine.
Maybe you’ll think it’s silly, but I bet if you do it for a few weeks and you’ll see the difference. Avocados will look charming. Bananas will seem engaging. And apples… woah, watch out!
I don’t know, maybe we forget to appreciate food’s natural awesomeness sometimes.
And maybe they’re a little bit embarrassed with the sticker?? Kinda like walking around with the tag sticking out of your shirt?
All I’m saying is, try it for a month. I bet you never go back.

Agreed! No wants to be stamped with a label-that’s including fruit!

Fruit stickers don’t bother me one bit. But, I do miss your regular what we ate posts a whole bunch.

Ditto for both stickers and missing what we ate posts.

Hi please check out the sticker that says Apeel. Apeel. com
Online there are questions and answers. Look for the question: is a Apeel a chemical?
Something new on our fruits and vegetables. A “sticker”.

I have to pull the stickers off in advance because my guys will sometimes toss banana peels in the compost with the sticker still on. I’ve learned the hard way that peeling the sticker off an old peel before putting it in the big compost is quite difficult. And, frankly, pretty gross. LOL So now I do it while unpacking groceries, just to make my own life that tiny bit easier. (And to not kill off the worms in the vermicomposter.)

I love fruit stickers. I have saved some of the cuter ones.

Thank is so funny!

If you compost veg/fruit peels, those stickers linger in your garden for years. I hate those little things popping up in my beautiful soil.

I am trying a variety of new apples so I leave the label on so I can decide yes or not again. My favorite is not available in the stores in my town.

It helps to take the stickers off so I don’t eat one or slice it up in a fruit salad.

YES! Let them be their beautiful selves until they are ready for consumption, put more beauty into your life! <3 I love your posts like this so much.

I learned the hard way to not take the stickers off too soon on peaches and nectarines – often part of the skin comes off with the sticker! Annoying.
But yes. Speaking exclusively aesthetically, the stickers have got to go… except banana stickers, since I grew up with them *always* being on the bunch of bananas so they feel normal and comforting. (no bar code banana stickers, though!)
