When you have to sacrifice your cookie sheets and muffin tins to start seedlings… That’s when you know you’ve gone overboard. It’s official. I’m back in the game.
Old crates make great planting containers too. Just sayin’ … π
Now get off the computer and GO PLANT SOMETHING!!!

Hi Mavis,
I can identify and testify with what you said. Also, noticed the Coke box. You might want to have that checked out. Coke stuff is very collectable and, as a result, can be worth some serious coin. π

Hi Mavis!
Where did you get those boxes shown on the cookie sheet? I love that they have a place to write the plant and date on it!
And I, too, have a couple of cookie sheets that have been repurposed for gardening. And several utensils.

lol….so many beautiful varieties, so little time. is there therapy for that? i feel like “the old woman who lived in a shoe, had so many seedlings she didn’t know what to do”. i think the tip off would be little girls who had tons of dolls growing up…and now our seedlings are our children. i always say “the more the merrier”. when i go to value village, the first thing i check for is anything that would serve as a seedling tray. i love giving away seedlings too….and donating to food banks when the seedlings have grown and blessed the world with their beautiful bounty. mavis..keep on sowing!!

Mavis… I have a lot of seedlings that are almost ready for the garden (we are supposed to get one more snow in the Denver area). But I’ve noticed those little tiny flying black bugs buzzing around the soil and the plants. Do you ever get that problem and how do you handle it?
Madam Chow says
That would be me. All my cookie sheets are full of seedlings. I have over 60 tomato plants alone.

Glad I’m not the only one! Hubby thinks I’m crazy! I actually wrote in my garden journal a few days ago “WE DONT HAVE ENOUGH SPACE!” Luckily Hubby keeps building me more raised beds, he has already built 6+ new ones this year

I planted seeds yesterday and thought I was running out of pots when my sweet hubby, who while sweet still thinks I’m somewhat insane, reminded me that we have plastic cups that he had already punched holes in for the corn that’s been planted. Now I have oodles of cups/planters (150 or so) and I have another hundred that don’t have their holes drilled yet.
Thankfully even though we have to move we have a friend who has happily allowed us to garden at his place. While the rest of the life is upside down, the garden is in full swing. Being from Northern California there is a lot that’s already in the ground.
We are looking for a new home but it’s difficult here and our funds are a bit on the low side. I have setup a gofundme campaign where we’re hoping to raise enough for a little bit of land where we can garden and hopefully teach others some useful garden tips and buy or build a modest home. If anyone feels like helping out us we would sure appreciate it. gofund.me/tqyxuk

Love it! I get so impatient waiting for the seeds to sprout!

have you heard of soil blocks? Supposedly you don’t need pots to start seedlings. There is a homestead in California (near LA) growing on 1/10th of an acre and they use soil blocks.
