So you may have noticed I haven’t been posting any daily deals the last few days… Sorry about that. I tagged along with the HH on one of his business trips to Reno, Nevada and well, business dinners and late nights make waking up at 4 am {and writing coherently for that matter} pretty difficult to make it through the rest of the day… So I chose SLEEP and being in the moment instead of posting deals. I hope you understand. 😉
During one of his breaks on Tuesday I was able to squeeze in a little bit of “research” time and so we popped by the local bakery, Hömáge in Reno, Nevada. You know me, it’s not a vacation until I’ve visited at least 1 local bakery and a local museum. 😉
I suspect Hömáge Bakery is one of those kind of places only the locals know about. The bakery operates out of an old home in a neighborhood filled with a mix of small businesses, residences and medical offices. The bakery is pretty hidden, so if you didn’t live or work in the area, you’d probably never come across the place. Which of course, makes it all the more charming when you do find it.
Along with the usual fare of baked croissants, cookies and pies, the refrigerated case was filled with an assortment of about 10 individual desserts. And you know what? There was a nice balance and PLENTY to choose from.
The HH and I opted to share a slice of Meyer lemon cake with fresh blueberries and a custard filling on the front porch. And it was lovely. Even in Reno’s 90 degree heat. 😉
So, if you ever find yourself in the Reno, Nevada area and you’re looking for a sweet treat, pop by Hömáge Bakery on Ralston street. You’ll be glad you did.Â

I live in Reno and still haven’t been to homage! So sad. I need to make a little trip, I suppose.
