When I was a kid, Magic Shell what quite the treat and after a little experimenting I finally figured out how to make my own version at home. And best of all, there are only 2 ingredients!
Ingredients
1 cup chocolate chips {I used Girhadelli milk chocolate}
2 tablespoons coconut oil {Amazon has deals on coconut oil}
Directions
Place chocolate chips and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl and stir. Microwave for 30-seconds, stir, then repeat the process until the chocolate chips have completely softened. Remove from microwave and stir together until nice and smooth.
Pour over your favorite ice cream. Dig in!

Oh yum. So that’s the secret, the coconut oil. (Mari is off to the supermarket to buy icecream so we can try this)

You can also make it with peanut butter. I prefer the Adam’s Crunchy peanut butter and coconut oil. I am not sure how it stores, so I usually mix about 1/3 cup peanut butter with 1 tbsp coconut oil, melt coconut oil in bowl and mix in peanut butter. Mmm.

I’ve been wanting to make this for several years, but I didn’t have a good source for coconut oil, and it’s not something that I regularly think to buy. Thanks for the heads’ up to get it from Amazon!

COSTCO and Vitacost also carry organic coconut oil.

Have you been to Costco lately? They already have their holiday stuff out. I need to stay away from there! 😉

I have both Sam’s Club and Costco here. I shop at Sam’s Club. They have autumn decorations out.

Whoa! I literally gasped when I saw this. We love, love, loved this on Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla when I was a kid. I’m definitely going to have to make it soon. Thank you for sharing! 🙂
