Market Basket $9.69
Last week the HH was down south and texted me to see if there was anything I wanted from Market Basket. I immediately texted back a BOSTON CREME DOUNUT {and salad supplies}.
Have you ever had a Market Basket Boston cream donut before? Man oh man they are the best. Well, actually Congdon’s Doughnuts in Wells, Maine are my #1 favorite, but Market Basket’s are a close second.
For some reason, we haven’t been able to find a good donut place here in Mid-Coast Maine yet. So if you happen to know of one… please let us know.
When I did the big stock up grocery trip a few weeks ago I accidently grabbed a jar of whole beets rather than the sliced beets I normally buy. And you know, I think I prefer the whole ones now.
Another big salad. This time with oil, vinegar and a little strawberry jam all mixed together as a dressing.
Mel’s drunken beans {the best ever!}.
Extra spicy meatloaf with mashed potatoes and pickled beets. 🙂
Baked haddock with a Ritz cracker topping, roasted sprouts, and rice.
Pizza Pizza! Newman’s Own Supreme Pizza. It’s our favorite.
I have indeed found the BEST sticky bun on the planet earth. {And I will tell you all about it tomorrow.}
And last but not least… oatmeal with a little brown sugar and jam. Because sometimes a boring meal is just what you need.
How you’d do in the meal department this past week? Did you eat anything exciting? Are you planning a big Easter feast for Sunday? Curious minds want to know. 😉
Have a great day,
~Mavis

We watched ‘Maudie’ over the weekend and loved it!
No kids or family home for Easter this year so we will grill NY strip steaks and all the steak dinner fixings. AN maybe some cupcakes.

Have you tried making deviled eggs using eggs you have pickled in beet juice? I use some of the pickled beet juice in the yolk mixture in place of mustard and/or miracle whip. Pretty and delish. I also do the same with amish mustard eggs. Bright yellow and purple eggs and full of flavor!

Why have I never done this before? I love pickled eggs. This easter – there will definitely be deviled picked eggs on the table!

Mavis,
Did I miss something? When are we going to see pictures of the completed bathroom? Also, you back forty is starting to look good with the trimming of trees, etc! Oh my, that sticky bun looks dangerous! But, I hoped you ENJOYED every bite of it!

I was hoping lockdown would be over and a family Easter dinner with pigs in blankets was on the cards as Christmas wasn’t allowed, but no. We can meet up down the park in groups of six so things are definitely going the right way. Just have to hope that the weather is nice
