About mid-week I made my way over to Watson’s Greenhouse for some gardening inspiration. I’ve decided to make/buy a trellis or two this year and wanted to scope out what they had in stock as well as the designs available. I especially liked this arch you see above. Don’t you think it would look cool with beans or cucumber vines growing up over the top? I could walk through it and pick dinner.
While I was at the Garden Center I remembered there was a Costco business center nearby so I decided to go have a look. The problem with Costco is… You tend to want to buy everything in sight. Which is why I try to avoid it at all costs.
For example. I needed a new strainer. And guess what? Costco had on for only $2.59. They also had a cake spreader, tongs, new measuring spoons, a wisk, loaf pans and so on.
I hate Costco.
But…
I think my best purchase of the week was at Costco of all places. I came across a 25 lb box of Roma tomatoes for $10.89. I knew my family could not go through 25 lbs of tomatoes in a week so I made a quick phone call to my neighbor Girly Girl and we decided to split the box. We each paid $5.40 for 12.5 lbs of tomatoes. Not a bad deal in my book. Even though we all know there is no comparison what so ever between a Costco tomato in February and an Heirloom tomato in August. Oh man, it is absolute torture having to wait for real produce. Isn’t it?
Here are the pictures of everything I picked up this week:
Amazon/Swagbucks $ FREE
Feed Store $ 7.35 {Garden Seeds}
So not a bad week, but nothing fantastick. Let’s hope there are some good deals/double coupons around the corner soon.
Total Spent This Week $33.78
Total Spent This Year $166.88
Total Spent This Year on Garden Seeds/Supplies $118.36

I cant tell you how envious I am of your Zone Bar deals. Even with nieghborhood dumpster diving I managed to score 8 Free Zone Bars. They are fantastic for my husbands lunches since he has a bottomless pit and thin as a rail. 😛 I hope I can pick up some more around town before the Double The Value coupons expire. 😀

My splurge this week was oranges, at $.49 a lb I don’t feel to bad. I’ve spent $136 so far this month and don’t feel like I’ve brought that much home. Oh well I guess slow and steady wins the race around here. My food storage is growing but the kids just seem to eat it up so fast. The Trellis and archway sound fun.

I love the idea for the archway of produce. I’ve never seen a Costco business center, probably a good thing we don’t have any close by either. My spurge was picking up 5 different types of beans in 25 lbs bags from the Honeyville Farms store near by. Now I shouldn’t have to buy any for a year! Wahoo for me as I hate shopping. I love your score of the POM juice and rolled oats..good for u.
