Target Shopping Trip $16.27
So this week was an epic fail. 😉 The HH was sick all week {like REALLY sick} and then there were committee meetings, spring sports, oh and a bunch of other random time sucking stuff that I had to do. So basically, I took the easy way out and shopped like a normal human being. {Rare, I know, but I DO tend to fall off the wagon a couple of times a year}. 😉
Costco Shopping Trip $32.21
For some strange reason we ran out of milk 3 days before our next delivery so while I was in Costco picking some cardboard Mac and Cheese {The Girl has been craving it for some time now} I went ahead and grabbed some Haagen Daz Bars for the HH and some chips for Monkey Boy. Â Ahh preservatives, aren’t they great?
Local Produce Market $3.10
Red pears are the best!
Vitacost $7.83
I had some Vitacost credit so I loaded up on tea and chocolate. 🙂 🙂 🙂
Smith Brother’s Farm Milk Delivery $11.16
And last but not least, our weekly milk delivery. Although I may cancel it for this week because we still have a ton of milk in the fridge. We’ll see.
So how did you do this week? Epic fail, or major success story?

Hey Mavis, what happened to the produce boxes you used to pick up from the store that were headed to the trash bin?
Mavis Butterfield says
I wrote about it here –> http://www.onehundreddollarsamonth.com/mavis-breaks-up-with-mr-produce-guy/

Ahhhh, it happened while I was in a medically induced coma this winter. I missed lots of good stuff while I was out! Thanks for filling me in!

I fell off the wagon yesterday too. Went to Sam’s Club with one of my teen daughters. Somehow we ended up with a 4lb. bag of Starburst jelly beans for 10.00. Bought some wine this weekend also, along with some huge bakery bagels and cream cheese. So bad! Oh, and at the store, two adorable little girls with tiny voices asked me if I wanted to buy some Girl Scout cookies. Yep. Bought two boxes. Yep, they lasted 5 minutes in our house.
Mavis Butterfield says
Ha! Glad to know I’m not the only one. 🙂

Mavis,
Do you generally spend less once your garden takes off? Are you then able to spend $100 per month?
Mavis Butterfield says
Oh yes. I hardly buy anything once the garden gets going. 🙂

I think its ok to cut yourself a break when things are going haywire. I think you did pretty good considering. If you have extra milk try making cheese. There are some simple recipes with lemon juice or vinegar to curdle. You can also freeze the whey and use in bread making. Love your blog btw. It definately inspires me.
