Around 3:30 this morning the Handsome Husband and I were jolted out of bed by a loud crash, boom, bam sound in the backyard. We knew a tree had probably fallen, but it wasn’t until day break we could see just where the tree had landed.
Luckily there was no damage to the house, greenhouse or chicken coop. Just a busted up fence.
And it wasn’t just one tree, but two. Poor Mr. & Mrs. Tree. Now we have no choice but to chop them up and use them for firewood next year. It looks like the Handsome Husband has a new project on his “Honey Do List” for this weekend.
And Monkey Boy too. Although I’m sure he’ll have no problem chopping up this much smaller tree that fell in the front yard after school today. Luckily we still have power.
And if that wasn’t exciting enough, it might snow! Wahoooooo!
What’s happening on this lovely Monday morning over at your place? Are you having some crazy weather too? How to you feel about the possibility of snow? Personally I’m excited. Because if it snows, I won’t be able to go to the store for milk. Weeeeeeee!

We had the same severe winds around 2:30 am here! Woke up quick b/c it sounded like someone was rattling the doorknob to the front door.
Our neighbors Costco “garage” is over the other neighbor’s fence and everything he has in it is exposed. I see damage to the fence and some shrubs. It is a twisted mess and mostly at the neighbors!!
We live in the Gorge corridor. There is a reason we all have hurricane straps on our houses (code)

We have had the strangest weather here in Ohio. Been near 60, then drops down to really cold, like snow cold, then back up into the 40’s and 50’s. Today, it’s 47 cloudy and threatening rain. BUT Mr. Goddard and Mr. Bernier (the world’s best weathermen in Cleveland) are predicting Christmas snow. YAHOOOOO considering last year was a muddy one.
Mavis says
Wahoooo for Christmas Snow is right! 🙂

At least the winds bring down evergreen branches that you can use for making holiday wreaths!

We are having crazy weather in Florida right now too. Today it is hot. I’m wearing capris and a t-shirt. But we have a front coming though now and it is raining and just a humid mess outside. Yes it is December and a week from Christmas and the air conditioning is on. We are hoping that by the weekend we will finally have some cooler weather. It just doesn’t seem like Christmas unless it is cold. Snow, ha! I have lived here all my life and I have only seen snow 2 times.

Dream on. One never misses what you must do for snow – only what you want to do

It was -14F when I left the house at 7am today here in Anchorage.
My sister texted me from Fairbanks on Saturday and it was -46F at her house so I really shouldn’t complain. LOL!
Mavis says
Wowza! Okay, I will not complain about the cold. Stay warm up there!

Praying for snow. There is some in the forecast for the next few days but my guess is we won’t see much if any at all. Today we had rain/snow mix. I like that better then straight rain 🙂 It’s rare here in Portland but it does happen. I’m wishing for a white Christmas! I love when everyone is snowed in for a couple days.
Mavis says
Me too. As long as we have internet. 🙂 LOL

Thankfully no down trees for us, but we were without power for 15 hours! Around midnight we got a big gust of a 40 miles an hour wind. And we had our first snow of just a 1/2 inch on Saturday and seen some falling today off and on. My weather here in OR can be a lot like the weather in WA. I just live higher up than the towns around me, so we always get snow before most folks in this area. Glad no one got hurt!

We had a blizzard this morning in Southeast Idaho. I went into Fred Meyer and it was raining. I walked out 40 minutes later into a blizzard and my car was completely covered. I hope you get snow too.

We’ve only had about 3-4 good rains since June this year (Oklahoma). Many trees and plants have died, and we have cracks in our soil that range from 1-6 inches wide! Most of the ponds are dry and the lakes are starting to do the same. However, the high today is 65 degrees…so I cannot complain!
I just checked weather.com, and we have a 40% chance of snow on Christmas day!!

Western NY here. We are expecting a big blizzard this evening so tomorrow we will be shoveling. I have the week off as I work in a middle school (MIDDLE SCHOOL KIDS ROCK!)
So at least i won’t be up at 5 am digging my driveway out as my faithful snow plow guy Jason never comes before 7 am. With the snow abundance, I am going to make a giant snow pug for my neighbors to enjoy.
