This year my goal is to grow 2,000 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables. I think I can do it. With 16 raised garden beds, a greenhouse, a raspberry patch and a few more planting beds sprinkled throughout our property, I believe growing 2,000 pounds of food is an attainable goal. Even if I do live right in the middle of high maintenance suburbia, and my neighbors think I’m nuts. ~Mavis

This past week The Girl and I were able to harvest a whopping 91+ pounds of Hubbard squash… There are still a few left growing on the vines, but holy cow, that’s a lot of squash. We also accidentally harvested over 30 pounds of green pumpkins, 17+ pounds of heirloom tomatoes and a few other odds and ends for a total of 129+ pounds of fruits and vegetables this past week.
Just so you know… I AM NOT FREAKING OUT…Yet.
There are still potatoes, tomatoes, pumpkins and a few other things to harvest yet.
And don’t forget, I’ll be growing kale this winter. Lots and lots of kale.

I picked a 5 gallon bucket of yellow beans, a 1 gallon bucket of peapods, a few misc. tomatoes and some lettuce leaves yesterday.
Blanched and froze the beans and peapods.

What beans on those in the photo? I’m waiting on my tigers eye beans to dry and my royal burgundy and yellow pencil pod beans to get rest to pick. Lots Of other stuff too, but those beans you have look coolio

The beans of my people… Mayflower beans 🙂

Absolutely amazing how much you grew. I don’t recall if you ever stated the size of your growing space. How many square feet are you doing all of this gardening in?
Next year are you going to grow heavier food? I love herbs but those chives didn’t seem like they were worth the space, except that they are perennial.

We have 16 raised garden beds, a greenhouse and 2 10×20 {ish} garden plots. I have not sat down yet to figure out what I want to grow next year, but hopefully soon. 🙂
